Farrell
is a native Arkansan residing in Arkadelphia, Arkansas for the past
42 years. Formal training started with private lessons and then
as a student of the arts at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas,
then University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, finishing at Henderson
State University in Arkadelphia where she received a Batchelor and
a Masters degree. She has taught public school art, art workshops,
plus private and group lessons. This year's Round About Artist Studio
Tour will include Farrell's works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, glass,
and fiber art. As president of the Caddo River Art Guild, she is
actively involved in promoting the visual arts and artists of the
area.
This year she has been working on a program that
promotes all the art forms of this area with the organization of
the Clark County Arts and Humanities Council. The CCAHC recently
acquired the old Royal Theater on Main Street, which has been renovated
as the Arkadelphia Arts Center. The Arts Center will be one of the
tour registration points for this year's tour.
